She is a dual board certified Family and a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a prescriptive authority. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) . She earned her Masters of Science in Nursing with honors from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2011 and completed a post-master certification in psychiatry from Eastern Kentucky University in 2018.
Over the years, she has experience in various settings to include general psychiatry in private practice for nearly four years, psychiatric inpatient and urgent care facility, outpatient mental health community clinic. She has worked with diverse populations to include, adult with culturally diverse backgrounds, adults raised in immigrant families, racial-ethnic minorities, LGTBQIA2S+ persons, adults trying to manage the stress/strains of life’s challenges.
Currently she works at UCLA’s Psychosis clinic managing antipsychotic induced weight gain and other comorbidities with medication, diet counseling and behavioral therapy.She enjoys her work and collaborative partnerships at UCLA’s outpatient mental health clinic, in academia, making it easy to stay up to date on the latest cutting edge evidence based practices. She brings that expertise to an intentionally small-scale, person-centered, streamlined private practice (electronic medical records, patient portal and telehealth availability) to ease the logistical of accessing mental health care. Outside her clinical practice she enjoys spending time outdoors in the pacific northwest with her family, listening to audiobooks/podcasts while out on walks, practicing yoga and taking care of her plants.
